Our shade structures are typically installed for hail and/or sun protection and range in size up to 35 acres.

Dashco management and staff have installed such structures throughout Australia, USA (incl. Hawaii), Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Thailand and many other places. Not only are Dashco experienced in the supply and installation of shade structures in these countries. Dashco are also experienced and knowledgeable in the importing and exporting requirements of these countries too.

Horticulture - these structures help to provide a controlled climate condition to enhance and improve the growth and quality of plants - potted or directly planted - which are stored under the shade cloth structure. The structures not only offer protection from the hot sun but also the wind, vermin and all other adverse elements.

OPEN AIR STORAGE

Outside storage of raw materials is often necessary. Wind, rain, and sun can be very damaging. DASHCO structures are ideally suited for:

  • Chemicals - reduce leaching by sub and loss by wind
  • Timber - reduce dry out in logs and cut timber
  • Fisheries - Protection from birds and heat

Design Features

  • Modular panels of premium grade knitted polyethylene shadecloth
  • Shadecloth is treated with best available UV stabiliser.
  • Panel size (standard) 14.33m x 14.33m (47 feet x 47 feet)
  • Panel size can be varied to meet customers needs.
  • Webbing is sewn in an arch on each panel with a high strength connection in each corner.
  • On site panels are laid out and sewn together to form a complete canopy.
  • The canopy is lifted and affixed to the top of columns.
  • Columns are 5 metres (16 feet 4 inches) (standard), but can also be varied to suit customer needs.
  • Columns are positioned on concrete footings using a "cushion" rather than rigidly fixed to the ground.
  • The cushion allows the column and the entire structure to move during times of heavy stress i.e. high winds, storm, torrential rain, hail - reducing stress on panels and columns.
    This feature is the superiority of DASHCO structures.
  • External columns are supported by cables anchored to the ground inside walls.
  • Strutted poles may be used where space is a premium.
  • Panels of shadecloth are stretched taut when lifted allowing a wave like action in the breeze, thus distributing force evenly over all of the panels.
  • NO: cables within the roof of the structure
    NO: wear points for the panel
    NO: eyelets, rings, etc holding panels together thus eliminating any rubbing friction or premature wear of the shadecloth fabric.
    The strength of the structure lies in the efficient manner which the connections transfer the forces between each of the major structural members.
  • The structure is stronger due to its flexibility. Tests conducted have determined wind resistance in excess of 160km/h (100 mph) and hail loading 0.1 kpa (2lb psf) with terrain category 2.5, 25 year return.
